U.S. nuisance case filed (21 July 2004)

On July 21, 2004, eight US States, New York City and NGOs filed a nuisance claim against the five biggest US power companies. The plaintiffs argue that the huge emissions from the defendants´ power plants contribute to climate change and are a public nuisance and that the court should order them them to be reduced.
